Lee Greenwood is unabashedly glad to be performing at the 250th anniversary festivities honoring America this weekend. He is also happy to be an ally of President Donald Trump's. All that is despite several other artists pulling out of the patriotic birthday festivities. They allegedly chose not to be associated with MAGA and Trump. Vanilla Ice as one who hung in there. So did country music icon Lee Greenwood.

Of Trump, he gushed, "I'm just very proud to stand next to the man that I appreciate that runs our country."
Greenwood's Love and Respect for America Is Evident
He shared with Fox News Digital his fervor for this country. That feeling deeply and sincerely informs his music. "I'm a farm kid from California and music was in my life since I was like 10 or 11, 12 years old. But it was while I was on tour in the United States, coast to coast, I realized there's so much about America we hadn't heard. So I wrote the song, 'God Bless the USA,' and 'Proud to be an American.' And now here we are on a 250th anniversary of this great country. I am so flattered and honored to be able to sing about it. And I'll be with the president of the United States in Washington, D.C., more than once."
"There's No Politics Here"
Greenwood also scoffed at the politicization of the 250th anniversary celebrations. "Well, I'm sorry about that. You know, in this case, there's no politics here. This is celebrating America, this wonderful place that we have for 250 years of our republic." Lee Greenwood, 83, also mentioned, "We have to celebrate America, and I'm sorry they're [the singers who bowed out of the event] not going to perform. I will stand with our fantastic president, however, on ... July 4th in Washington, D.C."
He Posted an Emotional Message About Patriotism on Social Media
Lee Greenwood wrote a message about this nation on X. It resonates with zeal. There is also an image of Americana-style icons with it, such as the flag and a traditional country barn.
He penned, "From sea to shining sea, let's celebrate the greatest country on Earth. Here's to 250 years of freedom, opportunity, and the American spirit that continues to inspire the world. God Bless the USA."
