While losing nearly 300 pounds helped the "Save Me" singer "fall in love with himself," the Dumb Blonde podcast host said her recent experience with a weight loss drug scared her "so bad." We have the details below.

Bunnie Xo Went Into a Deep Depression

Bunnie Xo recently shared on her podcast that she tried Retatrutide, a newer, stronger weight-loss drug classified as a GLP-1. It is similar to medications like Mounjaro and Zepbound. However, the side effects caused her to have suicidal thoughts.

"I literally got sent into the worst bout of depression that I've had since 2020," she said. "I'm talking, like, it scared me so bad. I didn't think I was gonna make it through the two weeks."

She added that she felt emotionally numb and unable to feel joy, even during activities she usually enjoys, noting that it felt as though something in her body chemistry had shifted.

"I had no emotion. You could see. Like, my eyes were black," she shared. "I couldn't even listen to music, music that brings me joy. I just drove in silence because I just couldn't handle anything."

Now She's Starting To Feel More Like Herself

Bunnie Xo has since stopped taking the drug. Nearly three weeks later, she says she is starting to find some emotional balance.

"I'm 20 days out now from taking it, and I finally am getting my joy back," she said. "But that was a battle."

The host was quick to point out that her experience does not represent everyone else's. Many of her fans have found success with the drug.

"My story is not what's gonna happen to you," she said. "There's so many people who are taking Reta and love it."

Looking ahead, next month is a big month for Jelly Roll's biggest supporter. Her book, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, is scheduled for release. She will also go out on a four-date tour to promote the memoir.

"I've always considered myself an open book, so when it came time to pour my heart into chapters, it only felt natural to write about what I know best — my journey, my perspective and the grit that's carried me through," she said.
