As long as people continue to pay, prices will just continue to climb. The Super Bowl LIX tickets this year are at a record high and have priced all but the elite out of a seat.

It's something being seen across the board for events, and it is a real shame. Both the events and ticket sellers have realized that no matter how much they charge, people will still pay for certain shows. Look at Taylor Swift and Adelle who charged almost $1000 a ticket in 2024. Incredibly greedy.
The Super Bowl has always been one of the more expensive sports tickets to buy. It's the peak of American Football entertainment and comes with a hell of a show to boot. But, I don't think it justifies the the average ticket cost of $8,400.
If you're looking to sit so high up you'll be short of air, there are Super Bowl tickets for around $5,000 on various websites. These seats, right in the upper echelons of the Ceasars Superdome, are not close to the action at all.
The stadium itself can hold 83,000 people, and the higher levels are 243 feet from the ground. Paying $5,000 for a ticket, to be miles from the action, seems insane. I am sure the atmosphere will be electric, but so will your local sports bar.
The 50-yard line, where the action happens, is not a cheap seat. Just one of those Super Bowl tickets will set you back anywhere from $13,000 to $30,000.
Super Bowl Tickets Are Reserved For The Elite
The greed of both the organizers and ticket sellers harms the sport and says a lot about what they value. Sports like American Football are the great leveler. Class, background, religion, and race mean a lot less on the field. People from all walks of life watch and compete shoulder to shoulder.
But, with tickets for the Super Bowl priced like this, a huge section of society is cut out. The super-wealthy are the only ones being welcomed to the game, with the rest of us left to make do.
Of course, the various events in bars, homes, and other locations will be full of revelry and excitement. But, it's a shame that the everyman is being squeezed out of the sport by corporate greed.
