Bruce Campbell has revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer. As reported by The Detroit News, the Evil Dead star revealed that his prognosis is bleak.
He originally announced that he had cancer back in March. He posted about it on social media. "Hi folks," he began the post. "These days, when someone is having a health issue, it's referred to as an 'opportunity', so let's go with that - I'm having one of those."
He explained that he had been diagnosed with "a type of cancer that's 'treatable'", but not "curable". The Evil Dead star apologized to fans, saying that it was a shock to him.
He said at the time that his number one plan was to "get as well" as he could over the summer, so he could "tour with my new movie Ernie & Emma this fall". He also assured fans he was a "tough old son of a b**** and I have great support, so I expect to be around a while."

The Evil Dead star revealed that he only has five years to live. He explained his prognosis in an episode of The Adam Carolla Show.
"The current thing is a five-year deal," he revealed to Carolla. When asked, "So the prognosis is you have five years to live?", he responded "Give or take."
He also explained how he planned to spend the last five years - and his attitude to cancer. "I've decided, pretty specifically, to live with it, not die from it," he explained. "You can go down a massive rabbit hole - the cancer rabbit hole is enormous."
"You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have what you have. I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole," he added.
He also explained that living with cancer is a "whack-a-mole life". "Cancer compromises s*** inside your body, so then you go, 'deal with that', so then you deal with that, and then you sort of wait for it to then compromise something else. Meanwhile, you're trying to put out the whole fire."
