Just hours after a British man purchased a lotto ticket, he was found dead in his France home alongside his wife's body. Security footage captured 62-year-old Andrew Searle buying two lottery tickets and a chocolate bar on Wednesday. The following day, neighbors found him and his 56-year-old wife Dawn Searle dead.

Andrew visited an ordinary tobacco store in Les Pesquiès, a small French village around 6 PM. So how did he and his wife die within the next 18 hours after the neighbors discovered their bodies around 12:20 PM?
Husband And Wife Dead Hours After Lotto Ticket Purchase
Currently, we don't know much until post-mortem examinations spill the details. What we do know is that Andrew, the former counter-fraud specialist, was hanging and gagged in the home. The neighbors then found Dawn's naked body outside of the home. These details are all per the Telegraph.
Investigations found that the wife had head injuries and scattered around her body were her various jewelry items. The conditions the neighbors found them in were quite horrifying, to say the least. There is certainly a lot of mystery surrounding these deaths that investigators will hopefully uncover.
Isabelle Palazy, the owner of the tobacco shop, claimed that the couple were "regular customers." The 58-year-old owner told the Sun that Andrew would "come in every day and buy Fortuna Blue cigarettes." The last day Andrew came in he "seemed perfectly happy" and "relaxed."
Many have also said the two were popular members of the local community. The couple, who retired around 10 years ago and married in 2023, would often throw garden parties at their residence.
So far, authorities have found no weapons throughout the property. Despite the lack of clues in the home, a neighbor reported witnessing Andrew looking distressed. This was the day before neighbors found their bodies, and he seemed "agitated." The husband was allegedly arguing in English, but then he waved at the neighbor and continued on the walk.
These deaths have come as a grave shock to the community which has seen "very little crime" there. This is according to the mayor of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Jean-Sebastien Orcibal, who married the couple in 2023. "We've only had one burglary in a neighborhood in years," he said. "It's a very quiet area."
