Hunter Biden Issues Heartbreaking Health Update on Former President: “Really Sad To Watch”

Hunter Biden also explained that, despite the heartbreaking update, his father still served as the "center" of his family.

As we know, former President Joe Biden was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer. His family announced it back in May 2025. Their statement confirmed the severity of the cancer.

It explained his cancer "was characterized by a Gleason score of 9". This meant that it was a "more aggressive form" of the cancer. However, it appeared to be "hormone-sensitive", offering expanded opportunities for treatment.

And now, one year on, his son Hunter Biden has given a health update, opening up about the family's experience, per MSN.

"Cancer is really hard," Biden explained. "It's really sad to watch." He said that "the only thing that I say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he could complain more."

However, Hunter Biden said that Joe was still "the center" of their family. He called him "the best father, the best husband, the best grandfather".

He also issued a heartbreaking health update for the former president. However, he did not clarify what he meant. He simply said that his cancer had spread, explaining it had become "very painful" and "very debilitating".

Jill Biden Also Spoke About Joe's Cancer

In an appearance on the Today show on June 1, Jill Biden, Joe's wife, also opened up about his cancer, as reported by People.

"You know, he's doing okay," she said. "Craig [Melvin], you've been through this with your brother, you know how tough it is. And I think if he had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer, that's one thing, because that can be cured, but the fact that it metastasized to his bones, that makes it a whole different story."

Jill went on to say that she thinks the former president will "live with cancer till the rest of his life."

She did, however, clarify that he was still doing well, all things considered. Biden said he was "out making speeches" as well as "traveling on Amtrak." She recalled that he even showed up to the Delaware Memorial Bridge for the veterans' ceremony.

We hope that, despite the severity of his cancer, that he continues to persist in being the center of his family.
