Several artists, including Ella Langley and Megan Moroney, are doing their part to honor Toby Keith. The two singers are part Apple Music Nashville Sessions: Toby Keith Covered. The new project will be released on July 8, which would be Keith's 64th birthday. Keith was 62 years old when he passed away on February 5, 2024.

Langley sings "Wish I Didn't Know Now," while Moroney sings "Who's Your Daddy," one of her favorite songs to perform. Other artists on Toby Keith Covered include Ashley McBryde singing "A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action, Parker McCollum singing "Who's That Man," Riley Green singing "Should've Been a Cowboy," and Tucker Wetmore singing "As Good As I Once Was."
"Toby Keith loved music and especially singer-songwriters. He would be so proud of this group of monster talent that covered his songs," Keith's longtime manager TK Kimbrell says (via The Tennessean).
Toby Keith's Loss in Country Music
Keith succumbed to stomach cancer, an illness he was still fighting until the very end. The Oklahoma native was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, several months after he passed away. Alabama's Randy Owen inducted Keith.
"I wish Toby was here to be able to do it," Keith's wife Trish says of his induction, when accepting the honor on his behalf. "It was something he was always looking forward to. He loved Randy and the Alabama group, back in the day, he would always say that was the only rehearsals he ever did, was when Alabama put out a new album."
Fans all over the world still grieve his loss. But no one feels his absence as acutely as his family, who have been open about their grief.
"We can't believe it's been a year since the world lost Toby," the family writes, on the one-year anniversary. "We have a hole in our heart and our lives. The love and support from the community that Toby created has left us all thankful and grateful. It has and continues to honor Toby. We know he would be proud of the legacy he left behind. Today we hope you will celebrate and listen to his music with us, where we know he is smiling down and raising his cup. A toast to a life well lived."
