During a recent media availability, wide receiver Nico Collins shared one of those stories. He spoke about a 12-year-old boy who was battling cerebral palsy and had a wish to meet Collins. Unfortunately, the young boy lost his fight before the two had an opportunity to meet.

However, Collins still made time to meet the family.

"He unfortunately passed before he could. What was it like meeting them? and getting a chance to talk to them about how much of a fan he was when he was here? It was real sad, man,"

The story is both tragic and heartwarming. It shows how important sports stars become, not only in their local communities, but to the younger generation as a whole.

The Texans Are Enjoying a Strong Season

On the field, Collins and his Houston Texans teammates are enjoying a stellar season. The team currently sits second in the AFC South. They've won 10 of their 15 games so far, including a 6-2 record at home. They're currently on a seven-game win streak.

Collins is also enjoying a strong year. In 14 games, he's scored six touchdowns on 68 receptions. He's racked up 1060 receiving yards, while also starting every game he's played in. The Texans aren't seen as a shoo-in for a deep postseason run, but, with their current production, they can't be ignored either.

The Texans will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 27, when they face the 11-4 Los Angeles Chargers. They will undoubtedly be looking to take their unbeaten streak to eight games, as they look to chase down the Jacksonville Jaguars, who sit first in the AFC South with 11 wins and 4 losses on the season.
