The incident took place on June 6 at the Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield. Videos of the frightening moment quickly spreading across social media.

Despite the dramatic footage, no injuries were reported.

Hot Air Balloon Crash Caught on Camera

The balloon flight reportedly began in Napa Valley, departing from Yountville before unexpectedly ending in Solano County.

Witnesses described seeing the balloon collide with a tree before making what they called a "controlled crash landing."

After striking the tree, the balloon continued moving through the air briefly. It eventually came to rest in an open area of the country club property.

Several videos of the incident have circulated online, including footage recorded by the couple from inside the basket as they braced for impact.

The passengers, who asked to remain anonymous, later spoke with KCRA 3 about the ordeal.

"It was no, 'Hey, we're about to hit a tree. You get down.' It was just that we slammed into it," one of them said.

According to the couple, the basket tilted sharply after the collision. It left them worried that they could be thrown from the balloon.

Following the landing, firefighters responded to the scene and gathered information from those involved.

Balloon Company Defends Pilot's Actions

The balloon was operated by Napa Valley Aloft, which said neither passengers nor crew members suffered any injuries.

"There was no emergency landing and no injuries to passengers, crew members, or anyone on the ground," the company told KCRA 3. "During the flight, the balloon encountered a localized downdraft and shifting wind conditions, resulting in brief contact between the basket and a tree."

The company added that the situation "was handled professionally by the pilot" and noted that "incidental contact with vegetation can occasionally occur during balloon operations and does not necessarily constitute an emergency situation."

However, the couple said they have not been contacted by the company since the incident. They said that they would have appreciated some form of follow-up communication.

According to KCRA 3, the Federal Aviation Administration said it had not received a report related to the incident as of Saturday.
