Chilling video footage of an emergency room employee being attacked by a patient has surfaced online.

The patient, named Wenyou Rubin, struck the emergency room employee, Yanira Eguileor, with a firestorm of punches. So, the result was Eguileor being left with severe injuries. To her head, neck, spine, and back.

Eguileor's attorney, Michael Pizzi, describes the incident which took place at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital back in May as "graphic and horrific." Pizzi also said that she received "no protection" amid the melee
"It is graphic. It's frightening," Pizzi said in a statement to NBC6 South Florida on Wednesday (September 16). "It's a graphic and horrific video. Of a career Jackson nurse being brutally, brutally, and repeatedly beaten and assaulted and knocked almost unconscious. In a vicious assault where she received no security and no protection."
In the video, Rubin, who can be seen wearing the purple shirt, unloads a flurry of punches. On a different staffer from the hospital's finance department, Tisa Wolf. He eventually turns his attention to the ER nurse.
Rubin's vicious attack knocked Eguilor to the ground. Upon realizing the severity of the situation, hospital staffers were able to pull Rubin off the ER nurse.
In a statement to WVSN, Eguilor confirmed that she was trying to stop Rubin from hitting the staffer.
"I heard a scream from one of the staff members, a female," she told the outlet back in July.
" I turned around, and this man is running after her, toward the nurse's station. That's when I turned around, and I went towards them, and he was about to strike her, and I said, 'No! Don't hit her.'"
Eguilor's attorney believes that the lack of protection put his client's life in danger.
"You have a career trauma nurse, knocked semi-unconscious. Could've been killed, just lying on the floor with no protections. While this guy continues to ransack the trauma ward," he told CBS.
In the aftermath of the incident, Eguilor has launched a $5 million negligence lawsuit against the hospital.
