The alleged incident took place on Monday, September 21, in Westlake Village, California. Taylor, 45, per the outlet, "was detained for obstructing or resisting an officer...."

Thomas was riding in a vehicle that was reportedly stopped by a police officer. He was allegedly not at the wheel. Per People, the person that the actor was with was reportedly going to be checked for DUI. According to law enforcement per the outlet, "The driver was being detained for DUI investigation. Sometime during the investigation, Mr. Taylor decided he would exit the vehicle. Deputies told him to sit back down in the vehicle. He was uncooperative with them, failed to follow orders, and obstructed the investigation, so he was arrested for obstruction, and he was arrested for [being] drunk in public."
Taylor Was Reportedly Brought to Jail
Per People, jail records indicate that at 12:32 a.m., Jonathan Taylor Thomas was detained at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station's jail. He was booked shortly after. The actor was released more than a day later. Charges have not reportedly been filed against Thomas at this time.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas shared with People 13 years ago that he was comfortable with his decision to call a halt to life in the Home Improvement public eye. At the time, he said, "I'd been going nonstop since I was 8 years old. I wanted to go to school, to travel and have a bit of a break."
His attitude back then seemed to be that notoriety from acting on TV was fine while it lasted. Nevertheless, it was also okay to bring down the curtain on that chapter of his life and career. Thomas shared, "I never took the fame too seriously. It was a great period in my life, but it doesn't define me. When I think back on the time, I look at it with a wink. I focus on the good moments I had, not that I was on a lot of magazine covers."
