With Halloween barely on most folks' radars, Home Depot released its first holiday sweater... and it instantly became a hot-ticket item.

Indeed, it seems the DIY mecca decided to throw into the ugly holiday sweater market, just as customers are checking out their spooky season offerings. The garish orange and green sweater (which actually is a pretty solid combo to wear all through Halloween to Christmas) doesn't just have the usual ugly holiday sweater patterns (it sports wrenches and screwdrivers alongside snowflakes and candy canes, btw). It also features a "stocked with the tools you need to complete your holiday decorating," per Home Depot's website.
"For the first time ever, The Home Depot is offering a Holiday Sweater, stocked with the right tools to help holiday enthusiasts deck the halls," the company explains. "Combining the tradition of the classic novelty sweater with the function of its iconic orange apron, The Home Depot designed the limited-edition sweater to help customers tackle their holiday decorating checklist in style."
The sweater's tool belt (which attaches sort of like an. apron) includes handy items like a screwdriver, tape measure, pliers, and a rechargeable headlamp. To top it off, there's also a nifty peppermint-scented Home Depot gift card for $50 for anyone getting this as a Dirty Santa gift...
Why Home Depot's Holiday Sweater May Have Been Too Hot...
The ugly sweater is something of the crown jewel of Home Depot's annual holiday offerings.
"This holiday season, we're helping our customers turn their biggest holiday ideas into reality, whether they're building a showstopping outdoor display or getting their home ready for hosting," Aubrey Horowitz, merchant of decorative holiday at The Home Depot, explained in a statement. "Our 2026 holiday collection brings together the innovation, quality, and value our customers expect from The Home Depot, with products designed to make a big impact at every price point and for every kind of home."
That said, this holiday sweater may have ended up being too hot. The $29.99 online item (which was valued at $150 by Home Depot) sold out almost immediately when it dropped yesterday morning (Oct. 1). However, the website does mention it was the "first drop" that sold out. Fingers crossed that more are on the way...

Meanwhile, Home Depot's 2026 Holiday items hit shelves in the heart of Halloween season on October. 5.
