"Law enforcement in Ventura County tells us Daniel was cited for soliciting prostitution on Dec. 10," TMZ reported. "... which is smack in the middle of the Christmas season, when his 'Home Alone' movies typically doing big streaming numbers."
It's worth noting that Daniel wasn't booked for his offense. Instead, he was given a citation ticket by officers.
Daniel Stern Has Been Hired To Help Decorate the 'Home Alone' House
Stern's run-in with the law came just days after he revealed that he's been commissioned to help decorate the famed Home Alone house.
"I got a call from the people who own the 'Home Alone' house," Stern told People. "And I'm a sculptor, they asked if I would do a sculpture for the house. So I'm creating a sculpture of me and the spider. "Which is gonna be kind of crazy. So it'll be at the 'Home Alone' house so that spider, whatever his name was, Charlie, is being immortalized in bronze."
The spider Stern is referencing is the one Macaulay Culkin placed on Stern's face in the original movie, causing him to scream hysterically.
Daniel Stern Did Not Attend Any Events for the 35th Anniversary of 'Home Alone.'
Despite being a huge part of Home Alone's success, Stern opted not to attend any events related to the film's 35th anniversary.
"It's no offense to the movie. I'm just ... a phone call, Zoom call, I'm in, but... I'm a bit of a homebody," Stern told People in the same interview.
Even now, almost four decades later, Home Alone is watched by millions during the holiday season. The movie has shown no signs of slowing down in terms of being a staple for households around the world. However, Stern is under no obligation to make appearances so many years after the film hit the big time.
And now that his citation has became public, it's fair to assume we will see less of him than we already did.
