Jamie Lee Curtis took a moment to remember her late friend and co-star Rob Reiner during the 78th Emmy Awards at Peacock Theater.

During the show's In Memoriam segment, Curtis, who starred in The Walking Dead, reflected on the life and legacy of Reiner, who died in December.

"Last week, Robby won an Emmy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his beautiful work on The Bear," Curtis said. "And he now holds the record, of 48 years, for the longest gap between acting Emmys. Which was previously held by his father, Carl Reiner, at 37 years."
"He was generous and kind. And funny as hell," Curtis added. "A friend to all. And we all miss Rob and Michele and all those we lost this year."
Reiner and Curtis were co-stars for six seasons on the hit sitcom New Girl. They played Jess Day's parents, Bob and Joan.
Off-camera, the two also shared a close relationship. The Reiners were also godparents to Curtis' daughter Annie.

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, died on December 14 of "multiple sharp force injuries," according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Their son Nick Reiner, 32, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He will not face the death penalty.
Rob earned his posthumous trophy during the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys, winning Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as Albert Schnurr in The Bear.
The filmmaker is now a three-time Emmy winner. He won his previous Emmy Awards for playing Michael "Meathead" Stivic in All in the Family, in both 1974 and 1978.
Reiner also has acting credits in Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Frasier.
Reiner transitioned into directing in the 1980s and unarguably achieved greater success. Reiner's opening seven-film run of This Is Spinal Tap (1984), The Sure Thing (1985), Stand By Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992) is widely regarded as one of the best runs by a filmmaker in history.
Reiner is survived by four children and two siblings.
"I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it's not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare," wrote Jake Reiner, who's been grieving his parents' deaths alongside sister Romy Reiner. "They were the last people in the world to deserve what happened to them. They deserved to be loved."
