Zachary Levi recently moved to Texas, leaving Los Angeles behind, and now he isn't holding back about why he left. Levi's move to Texas isn't new information; he sold his LA home back in 2017 before purchasing a ranch just outside of Austin.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Levi broke down why he decided to pack up his life and move to the Lone Star State.
"I grew up in California. I love California. It is a failed state," Levi said via Page Six. "It is literally and figuratively on fire."
Levi, who is best known for his role in Chuck, then continued by explaining his issues with the entertainment industry at large.
"Ever since I started working in Hollywood and I saw how broken it all was, I felt very compelled by God to go build a better Hollywood — like a new United Artists kind of studio — where it's owned and operated by the artists, where we can cut out all the middlemen, where we all can do really well, build a community."
"And then not just a place to work," Levi continued. "People can live there, and kids can go to school there. And we have an organic farm, and, like, all of the things that I think everybody really wants these days."

As the interview continued, Levi discussed his decision to leave his life in Los Angeles behind. That decision also meant parting with long-time friends, family members, and all the comforts of home.
"I left behind a lot of community and family and perfect weather in Southern California. But when you weigh it all out — and you must — you have to come to these points in your life, and you go, 'Is all of that really worth the thing that I know I'm supposed to go build in the future to make a better world?' And, to me, that calling on my life was more important," he explained.
Fortunately for Levi, it appears that the move is turning out well.
"Fortunately, Austin's awesome. It's great, you know?" Levi continued. "It can get kinda hot in the summer and kinda cold in the wintertime, but I can deal with it."
Levi isn't the first Hollywood actor to decide to leave Los Angeles. In fact, people across all walks of life have been making the move throughout the last decade. However, Levi is among the first to share his reasoning, and for those still in California, his stance could be jarring.
