A Minnesota community is mourning the sudden death of a 16-year-old track star. Espoir Missite died after a medical emergency struck near Maple Grove Senior High School, authorities announced. A GoFundMe page supporting Missite's family confirmed the teen suffered cardiac arrest. Organizer Alain Hambike called the loss "devastating." He wrote, "His lively spirit and passion for science, sport, and life touched everyone he met. His absence is deeply felt."
Missite competed as a sprinter for the school's track and field team. Principal Bart Becker told The Minnesota Star Tribune the incident happened before track practice began. The season starts March 10. The school did not respond to inquiries from multiple news outlets, People reported.
