Last week, an HGTV alum and fan favorite didn't hold back, letting loose on the network over their show's cancellation in a scathing social media post.

Bargain Block host Keith Bynum took to his Instagram Stories on Sept. 25, decidedly uncensored in his opinions of his former HGTV overlords. "Soooo happy to see this house almost done after getting royally f—ed by HGTV," the 39-year-old wrote alongside a selfie that also featured an under-construction home, per Reddit. "Like a phoenix from the ashes it rises."
Bargain Block bit the dust back in June 2025 after four seasons on HGTV. However, Bynum wasn't the only casualty. Married to Real Estate, Farmhouse Fixer, and Izzy Does It were also met with cancellations that month.
The show featured Bynum and his partner Evan Thomas renovating entire blocks of run-down areas of Detroit.
Bynum hinted that he wasn't thrilled with HGTV shortly after the June 2025 axing.
"Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation. Yet we persist lol," Bynum wrote on Instagram at the time. "Though you may not be seeing us for much longer on HGTV, we're excited that we've built such an amazing base of followers. We're very excited about the future."
Even then, the HGTV favorite didn't exactly mince words.

Meanwhile, the Reddit post highlighting Bynum's recent IG story was filled with words of support in the comments section.
"HGTV doesn't care about actual craft. It's now all about the cheapest shows which in turn promotes cheap and sloppy work. It's a shame, HGTV has been a shell of it's former self for a while but there were still some gems promoting real and thoughtful rehabs like Bargain Block," one top comment read in part.
"Bargain Block featured real creativity and genuine personalities, and Kristina from Farmhouse Fixer was a genuine designer, with a level of thoughtfulness that none of the interchangeable shows that remain on the network can touch. It's such a shame," another Reddit user added.
