Now, we have some answers about what brought on The Goonies star's illness. The details are below.
Is Corey Feldman OK?
On Monday, June 15, crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a request for assistance from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). They said a 54-year-old male was in distress.
Feldman was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. Sources said that the actor was feeling sick throughout the flight. He was also checked out by a doctor who just happened to be on board.
The Stand By Me star then spent the night at the hospital for observation and tests. While some speculated that Feldman had pancreatitis or gallstones, a rep told Page Six the reason for his medical emergency was food poisoning. It is unclear exactly what he ate that caused the intestinal distress.
"Corey is doing much better and is now out of the hospital," said his representative. "Corey wants to thank everyone for all of the love and well-wishes. He has definitely seen a lot of the messages and really appreciates everything."
Why Was Feldman in Chicago?
Feldman joined Jerry O'Connell and Will Wheaton at the Chicago Theatre for a 40th anniversary screening of his hit Stand By Me.
The event comes several months after the actor wasn't invited to be part of the Rob Reiner tribute at the Oscars. He said it felt "a little bit like a family reunion I wasn't invited to." However, he kept the focus on Reiner.
"We're not going to use this time to go into my feeling about that," Feldman said back in March. "Instead, I just want to say that I'm with the rest of us. We're all very destroyed that things went down the way they did, losing Rob when we all thought he'd be joining us at some point for this tour, and it's a tragedy."
Reiner and his wife were tragically killed last December.
