Brigham Young University (BYU) quarterback Bear Bachmeier and his family may not be too thrilled about the revelation that was made about them during a recent television broadcast.
RGIII Makes Wild Revelation About BYU Quarterback
BYU took on the Arizona Wildcats in one of the more anticipated college football matchups in Week 2 of the season. Late in the matchup, Fox Sports cameras panned to Bear's mom sitting in the stands. And cheering on the starting quarterback.
It was at that moment that College Football on Fox analysts Connor Onion and Heisman Award winner Robert Griffin III had a bizarre conversation. About Bear and his family's personal life that has since gone viral.
"[Bear] he told us that at the dinners, you know, sometimes they just, they just take the clothes off and they walk around naked. You naked at your dinners with the family?,"
Onion elected not to respond to the comment. However, users on social media did not get the memo. There was an outpouring of reactions to the viral interaction.
"What a random note to drop in the game lol. I also wonder how that even came up in the media meetings in the lead-up to the game lol," one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"That will keep folks from trying to sneak any biscuits away from the table," a second user chimed in.
"What family with boys hasn't had them running around shirtless and at the dinner table?" a third user asked.
Fortunately for Bear and his family, the biggest headline at the end of the game was his stat line. The Cougars' quarterback finished the contest with 217 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a 61% completion percentage. His stat line came in a winning effort as the Cougars bested the Wildcats 28-17.
At the time of writing, Griffin III has not spoken out about his comments.
