When it comes to tragedies, you always consider the what-ifs. One heartbroken widow is feeling a bit of survivor's guilt after her husband died in a DC plane crash instead of her. Her husband was on the doomed American Airlines Flight 5342.

The flight struck a military helicopter while landing at Reagan National Airport, killing everyone on both aircraft. Natalya Guidn lost her husband Alexandr Krisanov in the DC plane crash. The two had been coaches for two young figure skaters. The figure skaters attended the National Development Camp in Kansas and were on their way home.
The couple agreed that only one of them would accompany the pair on the trip. Her husband ended up going as a chaperone. And sadly all three died during the DC plane crash.
Speaking with ABC News, Gudin said: "I lost everything. I lost my husband. I lost my students. I lost my friends." She said that she had spoke with her husband that afternoon when he was in Kansas. He promised to call her when he landed. But he never made that call.
DC Plane Crash
She had hoped that her husband had somehow survived the DC plane crash. But there were no survivors. She lost her students, Angela Yang and Sean Kay, as well. Both were members of The University of Delaware Figure Skating Club.
Yang had been on social media just hours before the plane crash, celebrating how much fun she had.
"Had so so much fun at camp!!! I'm really gonna miss my friends and all the great coaches! I can't wait for next year!" she said."It was a lot of fun watching all the skaters at Kansas! I had a lot of fun sitting with my friends watching amazing skaters! I wish I could watch it all over again!"
Following the deadly crash, US Figure Skating released a statement about the tragedy.
"We are devastated by this unspeakable tragedy and hold the victims' families closely in our hearts. We will continue to monitor the situation and will release more information as it becomes available," the organization said in a statement.
