While we initially thought Vance's death was unexpected at this Colombus, Ohio event, there were red flags before her passing. The bodybuilder's wife called 911 that morning from the Sonesta Colombus Downtown Hotel. During the call that TMZ obtained, her wife said that Vance was "passed out in bed" and wouldn't get up.

On top of that, she admitted to emergency services that Vance had vomited and groaned before losing consciousness. "She won't wake up," she explained over the phone. Although emergency responders were on their way, she later died at the hospital.
"Her heart stopped due to complications of severe dehydration," said her family in an Instagram post. "Despite all efforts by the hospital, they were unable to revive her."
With the family's approval, Vance's coach, Justin Mihaly, revealed some shocking information after her passing. Mihaly bluntly explained that his protege made a "significant error" by taking "two extremely hazardous substances." She took them to "improve her physique," but it was without his or her family's knowledge or approval.
This is a highly plausible reason as to why the athlete was so dehydrated, as there was no apparent reason for it. There were many more signs leading up to her heart attack. According to Fitness Volt, reports show that she already started feeling unwell while assisting competitors backstage.
Although Vance wasn't competing in this event, she came to support other athletes. Even before passing out in the hotel room, she was "experiencing vomiting and dehydration-related symptoms" at the event.
Vance's passing has shaken the bodybuilding community and has especially affected her family. In the post announcing her death, they described her as a "beautiful person inside and out." They also said she would "be missed every single day."
