Around this time last year, Mickey Guyton burst onto the mainstream country scene with her stellar single, "Better Than You Left Me." Now, Guyton is back with a brand new track that features the same confidence and style as her debut.
"Heartbreak Song" is an energetic, feisty kiss-off to an ex-love who thinks she's still hung up on him. Guyton cleverly sets him in his place by explaining that she has no intentions of crying over an old relationship. "You don't deserve a single word/don't know if you heard/I forgot all about you," she explains playfully, making it clear she has no time to dwell on the past or the people she left behind.
Although fans have been patiently awaiting news about the release of her debut full-length record, it's still unclear as to when more new music will be available. Still, the release of "Heartbreak Song" seems like a good indication that we'll be hearing more from Guyton sooner rather than later.
If you're heading to Nashville for CMA Fest next week, you can catch Guyton performing at the Chevrolet Cruze Park Stage on June 12 at 12:30 p.m.
