Today, Loretta Lynn is known as one of the most influential artists in the history of country music. In her new song "Who's Gonna Miss Me," the 83-year-old pauses to consider the legacy she'll one day leave behind.
After contributing incredible songs and performances for over sixty years, it's hard to imagine that country music will one day be without it's sparkly-dressed queen. However, that's a reality that has emerged in Lynn's latest track, which gives the legend the chance to wonder what impact her life will have on others after she's gone. The somewhat lighthearted accompaniment of guitar and piano keeps the song from feeling grim, taking the route of many old bluegrass tunes that stay upbeat even through the most solemn of stories.
The song is one of the new tracks featured on Lynn's upcoming album, Full Circle, her first release in over a decade. The country legend will also be featured on the next installment of PBS's acclaimed American Masters series. Loretta Lynn: Still a Mountain Girl, will tell the story of Lynn's incredible career that has spanned more than six decades. The documentary is set to air on March 4th, the same day that Full Circle hits stores.
