Kip Moore Returns with New Song 'More Girls Like You'

Kip Moore recently announced a brief break last year, but it looks like the singer already has new music ready in 2017. Moore shared new song "More Girls Like You" on Feb. 9.

The tune comes straight from Moore himself, along with co-writers Steven Olsen, Josh Miller and David Garcia. Of course that's no surprise to most, as Moore has a hand in pretty much all of his material. But this is the first time he's shared a song written with those three.

And Kip Moore fans should certainly be happy with the tune. His gravelly vocals front and center, the optimistic anthem feels like an extension of much of his second album Wild Ones. In the song, Moore sings about finally finding that girl that makes him want to settle down. But he's not in a hurry.

"I've never been that guy looking for a relationship," Moore says on his website. Solitude doesn't scare him, he adds. But that doesn't mean he doesn't think about it.

"This song is about meeting that someone you find so amazing inside and out, that you can only pray the kids you have together are just as amazing as she is," Moore says. "That's the kind of woman I hope to end up with."

Moore co-produced "More Girls Like You," just as he's co-producing this next record. That third album doesn't have a release date or a title yet. But given the timing of this single, don't be surprised to see the album drop around summertime.

Moore captures a certain independent in his music, which makes his decision to co-produce make perfect sense. The singer spent years trying to break through the crowded country market. He did so in 2012 with major label debut Up All Night.

His second record Wild Ones reached to the edges of the genre's conventions but never quite leapt off the edge. No telling how far he'll go on this third album, but since he's taking the reins, expect it to be exactly where he wants to go.

"More Girls Like You" Lyrics

Well, I've been living like a wild old mustang
Out in Montana fields
Might've earned me a bad reputation
But never stopped these wheels
From going and rolling too far
Running and gunning a little too hard
So unreigned, so untamed, yeah

So God made girls like you make guys like me
Wanna reach for the brightest star, set it on a ring
Put it on your hand, grab a piece of land
And raise a few more girls like you

Your soul is pure golden
Must've been true love you were grown in
Sent the sun rays to a dark place
On the same day

Yeah God made girls like you make guys like me
Wanna reach for the brightest star, set it on a ring
Put it on your hand, grab a piece of land
And raise a few more girls like you

It's been a while since I stopped and prayed
But Lord have mercy look at her
He sure didn't make no mistake when he put that angel on Earth

Yeah, God made girls like you make guys like me
Wanna reach for the brightest star, set it on a ring
Put it on your hand, grab a piece of land
And raise a few more girls like you
