As Joey Feek spends what are likely to be her last days surrounded by her family, her husband Rory is sharing how snowfall brought some much-needed joy to his terminally ill wife.
In a new post on Rory's blog, This Life I Live, he shared how the season's first snow impacted Joey in a way no one could have expected. After being brought to tears by the thought of missing out on raising their daughter Indiana, Joey's tears were silenced by her sighting of the beautiful winter scene just outside her window.
"I didn't think I'd get to see snow again," Joey told her husband. "If this is the last snow I ever see, thank you Jesus... thank you." It was a moment that Rory decided to document by filming, then setting that beautiful scenery to the soundtrack of his wife singing the classic hymn 'It Is Well With My Soul.' You can see the touching video below.
"God sent us just what we needed, just when we needed it." Rory wrote of the unforgettable moment. He always does."
Joey's version of 'It Is Well With My Soul' will be featured on Hymns That Are Important to Us, the couple's new album which is set for release on Feb. 14, 2016. The release, which features harmonies from Rory and his daughter Heidi Feek, is one that he says Joey has "always wanted to make," and will be "filled with the hymns she grew up with."
A portion of the proceeds from Joey + Rory's Hymns That Are Important to Us will go to the Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation, in honor of the Feeks' young daughter Indiana's best friend Scout, who suffers from the disorder.
