'Haul Out the Holly': Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown's Hallmark Movie Is Getting a Festive Sequel

These homeowners are back for round two.

Hallmark knows exactly how to get us jazzed up for this year's holiday lineup. The only thing better than a new Hallmark Christmas movie, is a Hallmark Christmas sequel. Network stars Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown are teaming up again, reprising their characters from 2022 film Haul Out the Holly. Ho-ho-ho, these homeowners are in for some new holiday chaos.

Chabert starred in the first movie as Emily, a woman home for the holidays, only to discover that her parents decided to go on their own little getaway. While staying at their house for Christmas, the local HOA is determined to get Emily involved in their seasonal activities. Alongside Brown and Chabert, Stephen Tobolowsky, Reba alum Melissa Peterman and Ellen Travolta will be returning. Seth Morris and Jennifer Aspen are new additions to the sequel, Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up.

Chapter two of the story finds Emily (Chabert) and Jared (Brown) getting ready to spend their first Christmas together. But things might not work out how they envisioned when a house down the block goes up for sale. Especially when the new owners turn out to be experts at Christmas and might take everyone down in the neighborhood decorating contest.

"Haul out the Holly was so unique because we got to do pure comedy," Brown said at a Christmas Con Kansas City panel in June. "Working with Melissa Peterman and Stephen Tobolowsky — I learned so much. Comedy is so much more difficult than you would give it credit for just watching it."

This isn't the only exciting new movie Chabert has in the works this year. She'll also be reuniting with a major blast from the past, former Party of Five co-star Scott Wolf. They will be appearing together in A Merry Scottish Christmas, another new addition to Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas extravaganza this year.
