Hardware Store Recalls Over 500,000 Popular Yard Tools Over Fire Risk

There were over 30 instances of the yard tools sparking, smoking, or even catching fire. Affected products will be replaced free of charge.

Lowe's own brand of power tools, Kobalt, is facing a pretty serious recall. As reported by Slashgear, over 550,000 individual popular yard tools across a range of products harbor a severe fire risk.

The products were all manufactured by Greenworks for Lowe's. The fault comes down to their batteries - when they are charged, they have a tendency to short circuit.

This is a fire hazard, and therefore be a huge risk to life. Over 30 reports were filed documenting the issue. The products had released smoke, emitted sparks, and, in some cases, even caught fire.
