After being reported voluntarily missing, Hannah Kobayashi has finally returned to America, safe and sound.

After being reported missing by her family, Hannah Kobayashi, a Hawaiin woman, was then spotted crossing into Mexico. In the footage the police uncovered, she was seen to be under her own volition, and well. She was smiling and in possession of her passport. Since then, she has been reported as voluntarily missing. However, her family was still on the hunt for her.
Before Hannah Kobayashi returned to America, her father committed suicide. The media coverage of her case has been vast, but she never reached out.
Now, Hannah Kobayashi has returned to America and was met at the airport by her lawyer rather than her family. She finally spoke out in a statement to People magazine about the whole incident. "At daybreak on December 15th, I crossed the border back into the United States... I was unaware of everything that was happening in the media while I was away, and I am still processing it all. I kindly ask for respect for myself, my family, and my loved ones as I navigate through this challenging time. Thank you for your understanding."
Hannah Kobayashi Unaware Of Coverage Before Her Return To America
Tragically, Hannah Kobayashi had no idea about the media circus while she was in the other part of North America. She had clearly been out of the loop, enjoying the many pleasures of Mexico, away from the constant bombardment of media in the US. I think this is kind of what she was hoping for anyway. Sometimes we all need a break.
This being said, because she was not up to date with the news, and was out of contact with her family, she was unaware of her father's death. During the search in LA, the whole thing became too much for him and he threw himself from a multistory building. Hannah Kobayashi will now to deal with the grief of her lost father on her return to America.
The world waits with bated breath as to her reasons behind disappearing. Although, she's not entitled to give any answers, so we may never know.
