A 26-year-old New Jersey hairstylist named Jaclyn Diiorio was charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill her 53-year-old ex-boyfriend. Furthermore, she allegedly wanted the hitman to kill the man's 19-year-old daughter.

According to the
Camden County Prosecutor's Office, its Major Crimes Unit became aware of the alleged murder-for-hire plot on April 3. An affidavit obtained by NBC10 alleged that Dioorio met an informant on Tinder, the known dating app.Diiorio and the informant would meet first on March 31 in Runnemede, as per the outlet. For three days, they would exchange phone calls and messages, with Diiorio expressing her desire to see her ex-boyfriend dead, according to the affidavit. It was then that the Major Crimes Unit became informed of the woman's intention. Moreover, the woman's alleged target was a police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department.
According to NBC10, Diiorio and her ex-boyfriend ended their relationship on March 6, 2025. Previously, in 2024, Diiorio filed a temporary restraining order against the officer, but it was dropped later. Two years before that, the officer's home was vandalized after a Molotov cocktail was thrown against it, as per the affidavit.
Murder-For-Hire
The prosecutor's office alleged that Diiorio offered $12,000 to the informant to have her ex-boyfriend killed on April 3. Additionally, the would-be hitman was also instructed to kill the man's 19-year-old daughter.
A day later, Jaclyn Diiorio met with the informant in Gloucester Township. She allegedly gave him $500 in cash at a Dollar General parking lot. Reportedly, Diiorio was to pay the rest of the money in installments, as per NBC10. She then reportedly insisted on seeing the informant's driver's license, after which she allegedly provided the money.
Following the exchange, Diiorio was arrested. In her possession, authorities found a bottle of what appeared to be alprazolam pills. This medication is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, according to Mayo Clinic.
Jaclyn Diiorio was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of third-degree controlled of a controlled dangerous substance. Diiorio was transferred to the Camden County Correctional Facility. Her detention hearing is scheduled for April 9.
