Rejoice, Hailey Whitters fans, for her next album has been announced with a date.

Since the beginning of this year, Hailey Whitters has been steadily blessing us with new tunes. Right out the gate, she hit everyone hard with "Casseroles," a heartbreaking song. She followed that up with the upbeat and daring "Prodigal Daughter," though, to make up for making everyone cry.
With the recent release of "High On The Hog" and todays' release of "High On A Heartbreak," Whitters has advanced four tracks from the album. If we've only heard a quarter of what the album has to bring, then we're in for a treat.
Oh yeah, the release date. Mark your calendars for June 6 for Corn Queen. You can pre-save the album now. And the yellow bust of Hailey Whitters on the album cover? Real butter. Yup.
It turns out that the name of the album has a little more depth behind it than one may imagine.
"Corn Queen" Is A Nickname Given By Fans
The title of the album (and one of the songs in it), "Corn Queen," was a name bestowed upon Hailey Whitters by her fans.
In a statement shared to WOC, Whitters commented on the title.
"Fans started calling me the 'Corn Queen' because I'm from Iowa," Whitters explained. "At first, it seemed kind of silly, but the more I thought about it, the more I loved the duality of it. Corn is this simple, humble crop, and 'queen' implies royalty passed down through blood."
"I come from a long line of blue-collar farmers and construction workers. I've been out here for over a decade brushing my teeth in truck stop bathrooms, sleeping on hotel floors, driving myself from gig to gig. It's not glamorous, but I'm proud of it. I like the idea of a queen with little grit and elbow grease."
So Hailley doesn't just write country, she's lived it.
I'm unsure if anything in her album will top "Prodigal Daughter," but I'm more than happy to be proven wrong. I feel like this will be a very promising year for the rising star.
