With Gwen Stefani hailing from Orange County, California and Blake Shelton growing up in small-town Oklahoma, one may not naturally put them together as a couple. However, as Stefani has mentioned before, their marriage "just works." In a recent interview on British talk show Lorraine, Stefani shared the "middle ground" that brings country boy Shelton and her city girl ways together.
When chatting about her life with Shelton, Stefani raved about how much she enjoys being surrounded by nature on their Oklahoma ranch. She then shared a specific activity that combines hers and Shelton's interests.
"Just Oklahoma in general, like, I didn't know I needed that," Stefani says. "I didn't know anything about nature, really, because I grew up at the beach...in Anaheim. So, for me, I just didn't have that experience to go and just be in nature and to garden."
"Gardening, for me, is just a super amazing middle ground for me and Blake where we come together and we're so into it," she adds.
Stefani and Shelton's garden isn't just any small garden, though. She says they use a tractor to plant "millions" of seeds on their Oklahoma property. Stefani often shares the results of their labor on her social media accounts. She posted a short clip in July to showcase a few of the flowers that have been blossoming on their property.
While Stefani seemingly had a busy summer in her garden, she is back to work now on The Voice set. The singer is serving as a coach on season 24 of the show, which happens to be the first season without Shelton. She will be joined by new coach Reba McEntire, who takes Shelton's place, along with returning coaches Niall Horan and John Legend.
