Guacamole and Salsa Recalled at Major Grocery Store Chain

Another food recall involving an American-based grocer has entered the chat. Salsa and mild guacamole dip from Whole Foods is contaminated. And upgraded to a Level I classification. The highest classification on the FDA's warning level.

According to the FDA website, a level one classification is described as a "situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death."

Whole Foods Guacamole Recalled 

According to an August 7 filing by the FDA, the guacamole was upgraded to the highest warning level. Because "Salsa and Guacamole products were made with jalapeños that may be contaminated with Salmonella."

Whole Foods said in a statement that amid the recall there had been no illnesses reported of anyone consuming the contaminated products.

However, they elected to voluntarily pull the product off the shelves in an effort to prioritize customer safety.

"Nothing matters more to us than our customers' safety," a spokesperson for the grocery giant tells PEOPLE in a statement. "We've pulled all recalled products from our shelves. Customers who purchased any of these products from us should throw them away and contact us for a refund."
