GTA 6 Will Have an "Outlaw Country" Station… Here's the Details

We all know that the newest installment in the GTA franchise is going to be a big one. So let's celebrate some country flair!

Even those who aren't inclined in the whole gaming sphere know that GTA 6 is going to be one of the biggest games ever. Whether you're a seasoned gaming veteran or have only ever played Tetris, it's one of those games that is on your radar no matter what.

In case you don't know, the game is set in Vice City of Leonida County - Rockstar's version of Miami, Florida. And the surrounding areas of Leonida County are reminiscent of some of the more rural areas of Florida - even the Florida Keys are included.

That means that they just had to include some glorious country music. After all, it'd be a disservice to the culture of the region if they didn't, right? And, from what we know, things are going to be great.

Per Country Chord, the radio station will be named "Back Country Radio". It's set to play a number of "outlaw country" songs. It will be hosted by none other than Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey.

Morgan Wallen is already pretty clued up into the GTA universe, by the way. He recently released a song for the soundtrack album entitled "Last Thing You Need". But his inclusion onto an outlaw country radio station specifically might feel like a little bit of toe-stepping on other genres for some.

Here's What You Need to Know About the GTA Radio Station

The description of the radio station reads, "BACK COUNTRY RADIO: Airboat-ready renegade country from MW [Morgan Wallen] and Delta Dawne [Lana Del Rey]."

A video shared on social media shows a snippet from the station itself. Of course, given the nature of the game series, things are a little tongue-in-cheek.

MW says in an intermission, "I love outlaw country. Nothing more poetic than singing like crime," with Delta Dawne adding, "I could listen to those guys singing about everything."

Another snippet has Delta Dawne describing some of the types of music people can expect from the station. "You can hear the best of rebel rock, honky-tonk, red dirt and outlaw anthems."

Some of the featured songs are:

  • David Allan Coe's "Need A Little Time Off For Bad Behavior"
  • Loretta Lynn's "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind)"
  • Hank William Jr. and Waylon Jennings' "The Conversation"
