The victim has remained anonymous due to the investigation being active and the spotlight being thrown on the depraved suspect. However, it looks like we'll be waiting a while for an ID of the victim thanks to how severe the burns are.

According to authorities, per PIX11, the victim has been burned so badly that her teeth will remain the only method of identification. We will have to wait for the test results to come out before we know who was so mercilessly burned to death.

The mental image this causes will be distressing to many.

The attack happened around 7:30 am. Although it's not confirmed that the woman was sleeping, she was motionless, leading authorities to believe she may have been. They were both riding an F train to the end of the line at Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn according to authorities when the attack happened.

Although we know nothing at all about the victim, we only know little more about the suspect.

Not Much Is Known About The Suspect Either

Numerous reports, quoting officers or inside sources, have confirmed that the suspect emigrated to the U.S. from Guatemala in 2018. It's unclear if this was a legal or illegal immigration.

Fox News Digital has stated that insider sources identified that man as Sebastin Zapeta, 33. Although likely true, his identity hasn't been announced by an official outlet.

With no motive clear, the attack on the poor woman was likely arbitrary, making this somehow even more sickening. Nothing else is known about the suspect or the victim. As more information comes to light, we'll report on it.

It may take a while for the identification of the victim to come to light. The ID also may never be released at all, for the sake of the afflicted family's privacy. We will have to bear with the authorities to see what happens.
