UPDATE: Granger Smith updated fans on his condition, following his accident on stage over the weekend. In a recent Instagram post, the singer shared that he's out of the hospital and starting to regain some movement.
The "If The Boot Fits" singer fell off stage during a concert in New Jersey on Friday (Dec. 2).
Smith was standing on a monitor while performing at Sayreville's Starland Ballroom when it gave way, causing Smith to crash into a metal barricade. Although he managed to get back on his feet and finish the set, Smith suffered was then transported to the emergency room. Doctors report that the star suffered two completely broken ribs and a punctured and partially collapsed lung. With injuries so serious, it's hard to believe that he was even able to regain his footing, much less complete an entire song. Still, he seems to have taken the scary moment in stride.
"I took a pretty hard spill last night in Jersey," Smith shared through his social media pages. "Thx for the well wishes! Y'all mean the world to me."
Understandably, Smith has canceled the rest of his immediate upcoming tour dates. For now, he is simply focused on recovering with his family in Texas. Fans should stay posted to his official website for details on any rescheduled events and performances. We here at Wide Open Country send Granger wishes for a speedy recovery!
