Granger Smith Announces New Album ‘Remington’

One of Texas’ most prolific young artists is ready to leap into the national spotlight. Granger Smith just announced his major label debut, Remington, which comes out on March 4. Smith made the big announcement via a YouTube video.

The 15-track album explores a variety of motifs, but really comes emotionally full circle as the first album Smith wrote since losing his father to a heart attack. Smith told Forbes, “This album has been a journey for me — two years of writing and recording, releasing an EP in the middle and signing my first record deal at the completion. My songs are my best method of expressing the chapters of my life.”

Remington is Smith’s debut on Wheelhouse Records, an imprint of Broken Bow Records, home to artists like Jason Aldean and Dustin Lynch. But it’s far from his first album — he’s released 7 records since 1998, along with scores of singles, a live album and two EP’s, the latter of which featured his Billboard top-10 (and climbing), “Backroad Song,” which will be on Remington.

The Dallas native has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers in his independent career, but he’s no stranger to Nashville. Smith originally moved from Texas to Nashville when he signed a songwriting deal with EMI Publishing at the age of 19.
