Peabo Bryson has sadly passed away at the age of 75. For anyone who grew up watching Disney classics, his voice will be instantly recognizable. Peabo sang "Beauty And The Beast" and "A Whole New World," winning Grammy Awards for both.

Upon confirmation of his death, Peabo's family provided a statement.

"For more than five decades, Peabo's extraordinary voice served as the soundtrack to some of life's most cherished moments," the statement said, per the BBC. "His music carried generations through joyful celebrations, great love stories and enduring moments of comfort and inspiration, creating a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him and the countless lives he touched through song."

The statement continued by sharing the family's comfort in knowing that Peabo's music touched the lives of millions around the world.

"While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply Peabo was loved and how many lives were touched by his voice and his generous spirit," his family shared. "His legacy and music will live on for generations to come."

According to TMZ, the legendary singer, who excelled in R'n'B and soul music, passed away around 5 PM on Tuesday, May 2. He was "surrounded by the love of his family and those closest to him."

Some of Peabo's other hits include "Can You Stop the Rain," and "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love," among countless others.

Celine Dion Also Released a Statement Following the Death of Peabo Bryson

Peabo played a large role in helping launch the career of Celine Dion. As such, she shared a heartfelt tribute upon learning of his death.

"I'm heartbroken to hear that we lost Peabo Bryson today. His incredible voice and his kind spirit embodied the beauty of song and performance," Dion wrote on X. "He was so wonderful and generous to me all those years ago, when we recorded Beauty and the Beast."

The star singer then continued by praising how Peabo had a way of putting people at ease and helping bring the best out of them.

"He made me so comfortable, as I was just learning to sing in English. He will remain for me always as a real symbol of the joy that music has brought to my life. His voice and his talent will be missed. My heart is with your family, and may you rest in peace, Peabo."

There are no further details regarding Peabo's death, nor his impending funeral.
