Gordon Ramsay Has a Deep Love of In-N-Out Burgers

Gordon Ramsay is known for his fiery temper and incredible cooking skills. While we can easily imagine him eating a plate of stuffed lamb with pine nuts or a berry trifle, it's hard to picture the top-tier chef chowing down on a cheeseburger and fries. However, Gordon Ramsay indulges from time to time and even has a favorite fast food restaurant.

The celebrity chef is famous for his Michelin star restaurants and his food-based TV shows like Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares. He has strong opinions about food and isn't afraid to share them, so if he loves a dish, you know it must be good.

Gordon Ramsay's Favorite Fast Food

Although McDonald's, Burger King and Texas-based Whataburger are often considered the kings of burgers when it comes to fast food chains, Ramsay has a deep love of another burger joint: In-n-Out. When he's not cooking up a storm in one of his top-tier restaurants or yelling at up-and-coming chefs, Gordon Ramsay is ordering In-N-Out takeout to his West Coast home in Los Angeles, Southern California.

According to Ramsay, a famous chef loving fast food isn't out of the norm. "Every chef in the country loves indulging in fast food," he says. "So, take me to the drive-thru at In-N-Out burger and you'll see me in the back seat with tinted windows with a Double Double."

We can only imagine which fast food Anthony Bourdain, Thomas Keller and Julia Child would have chosen! Milkshakes from Shake Shack, or maybe a Big Mac?

Ramsay takes his love to another level, and has been known to eat two In-N-Out cheeseburgers in 15 minutes, eating one at the burger chain and another at home. "In-N-Out burgers were extraordinary. I was so bad, I sat in the restaurant, had my double cheeseburger then minutes later I drove back round and got the same thing again to take away."

The Masterchef is open about his deep love of In-N-Out, and has even posted on Twitter about the "amazing In-N-Out burger Animal style."

Gordon Ramsay has his own viewpoints on fast food as a whole, saying that it doesn't necessarily have to be bad.

"Yeah, so let's get one thing clear. Fast food doesn't need to be junk food. Fast food can be good food. I have a show on YouTube called Scrambled. Every country I go to, I'll do a scramble. So, for instance when I was in Louisiana," he said, "I did scrambled eggs with beautiful crawfish. When I was in Guyana, I did scrambled eggs with the most amazing black piranhas. When I was in India, I did the most amazing acorn squash scrambled eggs."

Although Gordon Ramsay loves In-N-Out and his own fast food, he does have his limits when it comes to what he won't eat. While an animal-style burger is a treat, he would't be caught dead eating plane food. "There's no way I eat on planes," he says. "I worked for airlines for ten years, so I know where this food's been and where it goes, and how long it took before it got on board."

While traveling, he avoids the food on the plane and instead eats a light and classy meal of fruit, meat and cheese. "A nice selection of Italian meats, a little glass of red wine, some sliced apples or pears with some parmesan cheese, I'm like a pig in shit," he says.
