'Goonies' Star Hospitalized After Mid-Air Emergency

The 'Goonies' star was taken ill mid-air. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed they assisted him, before taking him to hospital for evaluation.

Goonies star Corey Feldman has been hospitalized. According to Yahoo!News Entertainment, this comes after he suffered a medical emergency during a flight.

Fire Department crews flooded the plane after it landed at LAX on Monday, June 15. The flight was chartered from Chicago to Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that the incident occurred. They explained that they responded to the airport's request for assistance - they said a 54-year-old male was in distress.

The Goonies star was later taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

No One is 100% Sure What Was Wrong

There's been no official word as to what was wrong with the Goonies star. But, sources close to the situation have explained certain details as to what might have happened.

A course close to Feldman explained that he was feeling sick throughout the flight. While he was checked out by another passenger, who was luckily a doctor, he ended up needing to go to the hospital despite that.

Doctors have allegedly said that Feldman might be dealing with quite the painful case of pancreatitis, or alternatively gallstones.

According to the Mayo Clinic, pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas. Gallstones, however, are hardened deposits of bile that can accumulate in you pancreas. The Mayo Clinic emphasises the painfulness of both conditions.

The 'Goonies' Star Was in Chicago to Celebrate a 'Stand By Me' Celebration

The Goonies star was in Chicago alongside his co-stars Jerry O'Connell and Will Wheaton in order to celebrate 40 years of Stand By Me. They attended the Stand By Me: The Film and Its Stars 40 Years Later premiere at The Chicago Theatre.

And it looks like Feldman really enjoyed himself. He even posted a slideshow of photos and videos to his Instagram page of his road trip.

He captioned the post in part, "SO HERES SOM COOL PICS N VIDS ON THE WAY 2 CHI TOWN, VIEWS OF THE CITY INCLUDING THE TALLEST BUILDING IN THE US (OR USED 2 B?) & PLENTY OF SHOTS OF & INSIDE THE BEAUTIFUL OLD THEATER, INCLUDING SOME #LIVE STAGE SHOTS".
