It feels like the entire music world is mourning the loss of country music icon Dolly Parton. The star singer passed away on Tuesday (August 26).

Parton wasn't just one of the biggest stars in the music industry. She was one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry overall. And everyone was lining up to send their condolences to the Jolene creator after the news of her passing was made public.
Google Pays Homage to Dolly Parton
Even Google had to pay its respects to the queen of country music. When you search for Dolly Parton's name on the website's search engine, a graphic is generated. One that reads "We Will Always Love You 1946-2026." An apparent homage to the late singer's 1974 smash hit "I'll Always Love You."
"If I should stay, well, I would only be in your way.

Parton had been dealing with health issues before her passing. Multiple reports said that she had been dealing with autoimmune issues that hospitalized her. Ultimately causing her to pause her famed Las Vegas residency.
However, in a statement following her passing, reps for the country music star revealed that she passed away on Tuesday after a "brief battle with cancer." However, they do not go into detail about what type of cancer the star had been diagnosed with.
Following Parton's passing, one of her closest friends, Cher, said she understood Dolly's decision to keep things private.
"No matter what was happening, she was either going to go with it, or it was going to get better," Cher said (via Entertainment Weekly). "She just had a spirit, and it was a spirit that was always thinking the best was happening, the best was going to happen. Her friends loved her, her life was good, you know? That's who she was."
Parton was 80 years old.
