You'd typically expect those at the top of arts careers like acting to understand that where they are is an exception to the rule. After all, most arts majors aren't exactly swimming in cash! But, this Golden Globe winner has been utterly roasted on social media after giving some not-so-good career advice...
Emily Blunt got a little too... Blunt... recently during a YouTube interview with digital media company Betches. The $80 million net worth Golden Globe winner was asked if she had any advice for "women who are hating their jobs right now." A fair question.
She said in a pretty tongue-in-cheek way, "Quit... no," before laughing and clarifying "Just find something that you deeply want to do." While that's pretty standard advice on its own, it's what she said next that caused an uproar on social media.
She went on to say, "Even if you're earning no money, as long as you love it, you'll be happy." To be fair, that's a pretty nice response. I'd be inclined to agree, as I'd rather be doing a job I loved and not get paid too well for it versus a job I hated for money.

Fans Were Quick to Comment on the Golden Globe Winner's Advice
But, given the context, I can certainly see how that sounds pretty out of touch. People on social media seemed to think so, at least. They were quick to brand Emily Blunt's advice as "awful". They said that the Golden Globe winner was "entitled", especially due to her pretty sky high net worth.
One commentor said, "Emily Blunt really should know better than being this tone deaf. Can rich celebrities earning millions please stop preaching to the rest of us about how unimportant money is. It's insulting."
Another commenter added, "not everyone has the luxury to go for the job they want and abandon the job they have now even if it sucks."
This comes after the Golden Globe winner has been seen touring for The Devil Wears Prada 2 alongside Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci.
We hope that her... Blunt-ness... doesn't hurt fans more than it already seems to have.
