The Eagles will carry on with the help of founding member Glenn Frey's son, Deacon.
Band member Don Henley broke the news in a recent interview with Dallas, Texas radio station KTCK. According to Best Classic Bands, Henley says the group will return the road this summer. Frey, who passed away in Jan. 2016, will be represented on stage by the only person who could rightfully fill his shoes.
"Glenn's son Deacon is a very talented young man, and he seems to be up for the task," Henley said. "He's enthusiastic about it and he's been working real hard on it, and he's gonna do it with us. I think that's appropriate."
Many fans assumed that the band would stop performing together after the loss of Frey. Their heartbreaking tribute performance at the Grammy awards seemed to signal their final chapter.

"I think it's the only appropriate way to carry on. I don't think I'd do it otherwise. Since it's Glenn's blood, it's his son, I think that's appropriate," he explains.
So why keep going? Henley says it's due to the outpouring of support from fans.
"I thought we were done when Glenn passed away and I said as much, but I was in a state of shock at the time," Henley said. "But we have gotten a lot of messages from people all over the world from people who would like to see things continue."
Deacon will join The Eagles for shows scheduled in Los Angeles and New York City this July. You can find more info about those dates here.
