Girl Reportedly Dashed Onto Football Field During Game and Allegedly Accosted a Middle-School Player

In a bizarre and troubling incident, a teenage girl in Tennessee allegedly dashed onto a football field and accosted a middle-school player during a game, per WSMV4. This reportedly happened at Franklin County High School in Winchester on Tuesday evening during a game pitting Cornersville Middle School against South Middle School. The sixteen-year-old is allegedly being sanctioned by the Franklin County school system and also charged with disorderly conduct and assault. Those charges are reportedly being imposed by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

What Seemingly Precipitated the Alleged Incident Involving the Girl and the Player

Per the outlet, South Middle School landed a touchdown, plus an extra point. Following that scoring play, two players got into a "scuffle." At that juncture, the girl allegedly raced onto the field. She then reportedly "tackled" the individual from South Middle School who was involved in the shoving situation moments earlier.

Per the New York Post, she allegedly pushed the player to the ground, falling down herself in the process. When the player tried to get to his feet, the girl allegedly shoved him down yet again. An adult supposedly intervened at that point.

It is unclear exactly why the girl acted as she allegedly did or if the two know each other.

According to the outlet, "School resource officers met the teen as she left the field. Game officials cleared the field and ended the game early." Her parents were attending the game, so she was released to them.

She Reportedly Now Faces Some Stiff Penalties

In addition to the charges against her from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, there are evidently other penalties facing the female teen as well. Per the outlet, "A lifetime trespass ban" has been issued against her by the Franklin County Schools. Therefore, she apparently cannot be present on any district properties.

The girl is also not going to be allowed at any home and away sports events involving Cornersville Middle School. That ban will last for a period of one year. It comes from the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association.

The principal of South Middle School, Dr. Tara Brewer, "praised school staff, coaches and resource officers for their response and said the school will add security measures for future games."
