Jayde Wooten, a 4-year-old girl from Georgia, tragically died, discovered upside down in a trash can filled with water.

Deputies responding to a medical emergency call arrived at the child's home in Macon on Sept. 19 at around 2 pm, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office explained in a
statement. The deputies began life-saving aid to the 4-year-old. Eventually, the fire department and paramedics arrived and took over.The young girl was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where she was pronounced dead.
According to local outlet WGXA, citing an incident report, her father, Maleek Wooten, told a responding deputy that he realized something was wrong when he got home and discovered Jayde wasn't in her room. After looking around the house and outside for his daughter, he heard Jayde's mother, Jorden Wooten, yelling from inside their home.
The father then discovered his 4-year-old daughter in a trash can full of water and fish that was in their bathroom. He raced his daughter outside for help, with a neighbor taking turns performing CPR on the child, per WGXA.
GoFundMe Campaign Launched After Tragic Death of 4-year-old Jayde Wooten
In the wake of the terrible incident, friends of Maleek and Jorden Wooten have launched a GoFundMe in support of the mourning couple.
"No parent should ever have to face this kind of pain," the fundraising campaign reads in part. "Their family is now trying to carry an unimaginable grief while also handling the difficult responsibilities that come after such a devastating loss."
"During this time, they need space to mourn, support one another, and take each day as it comes," the GoFundMe added."
"The funds raised will help with funeral costs and help support Maleek Wooten and Jorden Wooten over the next few months as they grieve the loss of their little girl," the fundraiser page reads. "Any kindness shared through this fundraiser will help ease some of the financial burden during an incredibly painful time."
Meanwhile, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
