A Georgia mother has been charged after she was allegedly run over by her own SUV while allowing her 13-year-old daughter to drive during a school drop-off.

Shumeka Johnson, 35, faces a reckless conduct charge following the unusual incident outside Brumby Elementary School in Cobb County on April 22.
Authorities say the crash left Johnson seriously injured.
Mom Run Over by SUV Driven by 13-Year-Old Daughter
Investigators determined that Johnson's teenage daughter was behind the wheel of a stationary 2017 Chrysler Pacifica in the school's drop-off lane.
A four-year-old boy and a six-month-old girl were also inside the vehicle at the time.
According to police reports, the SUV "suddenly accelerated forward and struck Johnson." The vehicle then "came to a final rest on top of her" while she was standing in front of it.
The situation escalated further when the teen allegedly shifted the vehicle into reverse. The SUV then collided with an unoccupied parked car.
Johnson suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, officials have not released additional information regarding the severity of her injuries. It is also unclear whether she remains hospitalized.
Authorities have also not disclosed why Johnson allegedly allowed her daughter to operate the vehicle in the school parking lot.
Mother Charged Following School Drop-Off Incident
Police allege that Johnson placed her daughter in danger. This is by allowing her to operate the SUV without adult supervision inside the vehicle.
A warrant obtained by East Cobb News states that Johnson committed misdemeanor reckless conduct "by consciously disregarding a substantial and unjustifiable risk that her act or omission would endanger the safety of said person and such disregard constituted a gross deviation from the standard of care which a reasonable person would have exercised in the situation."
Court records show that Cobb County Magistrate Court Judge Charles Chesbro signed the warrant after finding probable cause for the charge.
Johnson has been granted a $300 bond. She is facing a misdemeanor count of reckless conduct as the case proceeds through the legal system.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign created by a friend is seeking assistance with Johnson's medical expenses and childcare costs.
According to the fundraiser, Johnson requires "several ongoing surgeries" and now faces "the challenge of learning to walk again."
