The King of Country has just announced a massive headlining concert in Austin next summer.
George Strait revealed the show will take place on June 3, 2018 at the Frank Erwin Center as part of the venue’s 40th-anniversary celebration.
The Erwin Center is a large event venue owned by the University of Texas at Austin, where the Longhorn basketball team plays and where graduations are held. It’s also where people go to rock out to all kinds of concerts when it’s not in use by the University.
George Strait is a native Texan, born in Poteet, Texas. He attended Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) in San Marcos, about 50 miles outside of Austin.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Nov. 3.
