We may never know, but we can tell you he seems to like Wrangler. The clothing brand supplied the denim for his 1992 movie Pure Country. And now, more than 30 years later, the "Write This Down" singer is starring in a new ad for the jean company. We have the details below.
Wrangler Introduced the "George Strait Collection"
Strait posted a new Wrangler ad on his socials that captures what fans love about the singer.
"You know how to spot an original? They never change who they are or what they stand for," it says.
And yes, the jeans are impressive. But the ad has become a thirst trap for country music fans. Many have commented that it's not the jeans that look good, but the man in them.
"No one could ever wear these Jeans and clothes better than you my King George," wrote one user.
Another added, "I always said George looks GOOD coming and going!!!"
One even wrote, "Is it wranglers they're selling or the fact that you look so effing hot at 74?"
It Isn't Just the Ladies Who Love Strait
Of course, Strait isn't loved for just his looks. The King of Country Music has influenced many of today's artists, including Parker McCollum.
"George and I spent a little bit of time together, and he's just an unbelievably kind human being," McCollum said last year. "Just a really, really sweet man, and he's the King of Country music. He's a living, breathing legend, and just the greatest to ever do it. And he just couldn't be more down to earth, genuine and kind."
Miranda Lambert was inducted alongside Strait into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this year. But she gave a lovely tribute to the artist at the Kennedy Center Honors last year, performing a flawless rendition of his song "Run."
