George Birge isn't just a talented musician; he's also formidable on the green. The golfer has shared his dream country music golf team, although he cheated a couple of times making it.

When Birge attended the University of Texas, he was a walk-on for the Longhorns Golf team, so he does know a thing or two about the sport.
The singer sat down with Taste of Country Mornings With Wood and Nicole, where they chatted about golf and his dream team. They asked him what other country artists would make up his golfing team of four.
His first answer, off the bat, immediately opposed the rules of the hypothetical as he enlisted the help of someone who isn't a country musician. George Birge was quick to enroll Tiger Woods into his dream team, which does make sense, but is an incredibly safe answer.
I mean, who wouldn't pick Tiger Woods for their golf team?
Thankfully the rest of his teammates were country singers. Well, for the most part.

The 37-year-old Texan native stuck to his roots for his next teammate, George Strait. Apparently, this was to "make sure we all stayed in line and behaved," he said.
Let's just hope his game takes after his name.
He then picked the legendary Willie Nelson, mostly for the company I imagine considering how old the icon is now. I don't reckon he'd be playing golf very well these days, but he sure is a great personality hire.
Birge believed Nelson would "bring some smoke with him," whatever that meant. He left that statement open for interpretation.
With Birge, Woods, Strait, and Nelson, he has his team of four. But for the fun of it, he threw a fifth in there. I suppose Tiger Woods isn't really a country singer anyway, so we'll allow it. But then again, neither is his extra pick.
Birge thought actor Matthew McConaughey would be an excellent addition (and another personality hire). He said he needed to make sure the vibes remained alive throughout their game.
So with his team of three country stars and two other stars to make up his four-person golf team, Birge is in store for the game of a lifetime. It's just a shame this collab will likely never happen.
