By his own admission, Gavin Adcock hasn't always made the best choices. Fortunately, his fans are reaping the benefit of that with his new Own Worst Enemy album, out now. The 24-track record includes songs like "Unlucky Strikes" and "Morning Bail," titles that indicate Adcock might have a few regrets.

"The deeper meaning to my new album, Own Worst Enemy, is about self-destruction," Adcock says. "And decisions I've made in my life, where I could have had a better outcome if I'd have done something differently. So, I'm throwing it out there to the world so y'all can give it a listen and hopefully I'll make better choices next time."
Own Worst Enemy comes one year after Actin' Up Again, his first record on Warner Nashville. For some, 24 songs is a bit excessive. For Adcock, it's a good hint of what fans can expect from him moving forward.
"My brand new album's got 24 songs on it, which is the most I've ever let out in my career," Adcock reveals. "And to get to a point where I could let out that many songs, I had to write one song, let it out, and before I dropped the next one, I had to write three to five new ones. I've just been doing that ever since I started my career. And I just found a good way to have a surplus of songs, and it made sense to put them all on this album. I hope you all like them all."
Gavin Adcock Defends Country Music
Adcock has been an outspoken defender of country music. He recently made headlines for criticizing Beyoncé and her Cowboy Carter album. The record won a total of three Grammys, two in country categories.
"When I was a little kid, my mama was blasting some Beyoncé in the car. I've heard a ton of Beyoncé songs. And I actually remember her Super Bowl Halftime Show being pretty kick-a-- back in the day. But I really don't believe her album should be labeled as country music," he says.
"It doesn't sound country, it doesn't feel country," he continues. "And I just don't think that people that have dedicated their whole lives to this genre and this lifestyle should have to compete or watch that album just stay at the top just because she's Beyoncé."
