Garth Brooks Announces Free Sound Check Event for Students

During the Oct. 8 episode of Inside Studio G, Garth Brooks announced that he'll hold an exclusive sound check event ahead of his history-making show at Notre Dame Stadium. The show will be free for Notre Dame students. Tickets will be available for purchase for university faculty and staff. All proceeds from the sound check show will go toward a scholarship program.

Over the summer, Brooks announced that he'll be the first musical act to headline Notre Dame Stadium in Notre Dame, Ind.

Trisha Yearwood will also take part in the sound check event. The country star will join her husband for a special Q&A session during the event.

Brooks' Inside Studio G airs on his Facebook page every Monday at 6 p.m. CT.

Brooks has had an eventful year already. In August, the country superstar made a rare appearance at the Grand Ole Opry where he performed George Strait's "The Fireman."

The country legend has recently teamed up with a couple of the genre's most talented up and comers. Rising star Ashley McBryde appears on Brooks' new Triple Live album singing her song "Girl Going Nowhere" with Brooks. The "Friends in Low Places" singer also collaborated with Texas singer-songwriter Randall King to pen "The Road I'm On."
